Happy Feet was established in 1998 by Anne Garrett. Anne’s background in dance started when she was just three with her first class in musical theatre.

She trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap followed by a ten year professional worldwide dance career.

Having fulfilled her ambitions and goals in the professional dance world, Anne wanted to share her enthusiasm and inspire young students to realise their own potential in dance and musical theatre. The disciplines learnt can also enable students to gain confidence and inspiration for other areas of their life.

It was clear in 1998 there was a space for a theatre school for children who wanted to dance for enjoyment without the pressures of competition and exams. So Happy Feet was born...

In 2017 Anne handed over the reigns of Happy Feet to former student and Musical Theatre professional, Sarah Jones. Sarah trained further in ballet, jazz, contemporary, commercial, tap and singing after leaving Happy Feet and has worked in hotels and cruise ships around the world. 

Happy Feet is a unique, friendly, hardworking and inspiring theatre school. Proud to be known for its professional standards, personal, caring and happy approach with young students.

The school has seen students be accepted to study at Mountway Academy, Bird College, Tiffany Theatre College and The Brit School for performing Arts. Professional contracts achieved with ‘Allure of the Seas’ cruise ship, Disneyland Paris, Cabaret and Touring musical theatre companies.
